Castle Air Museum opened in 1981 to pay tribute to the significant role military aviation has played in the defense of the free world.

Today the Atwater, Calif. Museum has evolved into an exciting destination for families, history buffs, and aviation enthusiasts, for anyone who wants an educational and entertaining stroll through the past.

Currently there are 55 restored aircraft on the Museum grounds which encompass flying history from WW II to the present. The Museum Naval aircraft collection continues to grow.

We also have Cold War aircraft including an SR-71 and up to the more recent F-14 and F-15. Several other cold War aircraft, including an RF-8 and an RA-3B, will soon join the collection.

Our Open Cockpit Day this Fall on Sunday, September 4, will commemorate Naval AviationÕs 100th Anniversary. We will have approximately 25 of our airplanes open for viewing as well as having crew members with each plane to answer questions.

Many of our volunteers served with these planes during WW II and other eras, and have many interesting and educational stories. This Fall we will also have the US Army Hummer, and many childrenÕs activities.

Please join us for this wonderful event.

The museum gift shop will also be open during this event, as well as our indoor museum with several new exhibits highlighting Naval Aviation. Castle Air Museum is a non-profit foundation which relies upon volunteers, members, visitors and special events to manage the huge task of maintaining the grounds and aircraft.

We work very hard to make the special events a wonderful family outing for our visitors. Each of them presents visitors with an interesting variety of activities as well as the privilege of spending time with history.

Please visit our website at: www.castleairmuseum.org or call the museum at (209) 723-2178.

If this house could talk! It would say: I'm TOO much fun without too many FAA house rules - I've got a hangar and a private airstrip right out my back door!

So no more tie-down or hangar rental fees! Sunriver is one of America's premier resorts and among its friendliest private airports (S21) with its 5,455 x 75-ft runway and large apron.

Sunriver is unique - with 11 inter-connected villages originally developed on the premise that we build our lives around nature, simplicity and intergenerational fun. It's flanked by six miles of the Deschutes River and nearly 1,800 square miles of National Forest trails.

It's only 19 miles from Mt. Bachelor, the fifth largest ski resort in North America renowned for its powdery snow from the Cascade Range from October to May and within a 50 mile radius, you have over 125 lakes where you can fish, float, boat, kayak or swim from June to September.

If you don't know about this vacation haven, you owe it to yourself and your family to check it out. All the sights, smells of sugar pine cones and peace and quiet show you how to relax.

Yet, there's something for everyone at every age and athletic ability to do.

The Sunriver Village is home to: its private parks, marina, stables, one of the Pacific Northwest's largest retractable Nature Center and Observatory, over 35 miles of paved biking/walking trials, a world-class spa, the FlowRider wave-riding machine, numerous outdoor pools/ tennis courts, Adventure camps, an ice-skating arena, shops and restaurants, and so much more.

Please feel free to call me with questions not only about this wonderful area, but for any area in Central Oregon, especially if you are thinking of buying a vacation home or relocating here. That's my specialty in Bend, Sisters, Redmond and Three Rivers South.

Originally a series of mining claims in the 1800Õs, this high desert mesa has seen many owners through the years.

The most colorful would be Starr Nelson, who at the age of 74, wanted to learn to fly, and built himself an airport in the 1930Õs. The airport has changed hands several times,and is now owned by Andy and Ann Moffat.

"After acquiring a second airplane we decided to look at the next county with a lot of airstrip properties, and bought one in 1991."

The 160 acres had not been used as an airport for at least 20 years and the 60X60 and 35X45 hangars and office were badly dilapidated, being made out of used materials 65 years ago.

A large horse barn and mobile home were not in not much better shape. With a lot of work, new doors, windows, and many yards of cement, the Moffats moved in to their new dream airport!

The place came with a spray pilot, told he could use the strips just before the sale. A neighbor graded the runway (all three) for an airplane ride, and then helped find an old grader and road roller to fix up.

Now they had airplane noise every morning to start the work day!

ÒNow that we had all this space, we had to fill it with cars and airplanes to restore. This place was a huge project,including building a house, but well worth it.

"We have a Fly-In every year on Fathers Day, to show off our progress."

With breathtaking 360 degree views of the Largest Flat-Top Mountain (10,000' Grand Mesa), the San Juan Mountains, (14 - 14,000' peaks), and the West Elk Range near Aspen, this would be a special place to buy.

Only a few weeks from now Minden-Tahoe Airport in Minden, Nev. will be hosting an outstanding event to celebrate the life of Amanda Franklin and to raise money to offset medical bills and loss of income for the great Flying Circus pilot Kyle Franklin.

We are so fortunate that the air show family has stepped forward in such a dynamic way to help in this effort. With Wayne Boggs as our Air Boss and Danny Clisham as the announcer the fans will be totally entertained.

Jay Rabbit is providing his awesome state-of-the-art sound system and as of this writing the list of performers include, in no particular order:

* Patty Wagstaff

* Greg Koontz

* Mark Peterson

* Chuck Coleman

* E Team Skydivers

* Super Dave Mathieson

* Jon Melby

* Marcus Paine

* Team Rocket

* Rich Perkins

* Greg Colyer

Our static air "Zoo" will include Beaver, Broncos, Mustangs, Gazelles, Cobras, Mallards, Chipmunks, Tigers and more. The Coast Guard will display their flotilla, a SWAT Team will have a display and the K-9 Teams and radio controlled aircraft will put on demonstrations.

The Perlan II project will have a mock-up of the new pressurized glider being built for their 100,000 foot altitude attempt and will be doing a presentation followed Bill Schroeder presenting a FAA WINGS seminar.

Our vendor group is very eclectic from Harley Davidson to Starbucks to Costco to Genoa Lakes driving range and another 15 in between. We have four different vendors providing food favorites including the basic air show staples and BBQ along with special pastries and wine tasting.

We are still accepting performers, static displays, vendors and volunteers.

Many pilots count on Claroxan, a once daily tablet for vision improvement, as a key component to address and enhance performance on the vision testing segment of the FAA Medical examination.

Martin, who started in aviation after being drafted into the U.S. Army in 1969 during the Vietnam conflict, began using the daily eye vitamin back in 2006 and saw such a dramatic improvement that he has been turning his clients onto Claroxan ever since.

"I noticed objects becoming dramatically clearer with my unaided vision. I was astounded at the clarity with which I was able to focus," says Martin, describing what Claroxan has done for his visual acuity.

Claroxan is trademarked and distributed by a small, customer-friendly company called Pacific Health, located in beautiful Bellingham, Wash.

Pacific Health's R&D team works in conjunction with a manufacturer to create unique proprietary formulas consisting of vitamins, minerals, herbs, antioxidants and caratenoids that have been known to be beneficial for maintaining and enhancing visual acuity.

Claroxan is available in three different all-natural formulas, including a safe formula designed for smokers and a high-powered formula used by professionals.

"We chose to create the best formulas possible," a company spokesman said. "Take just one tablet per day, and you should see the effects in no time.

"Further, our customer service is top notch! Customers should feel free to call us and ask as many questions as they feel necessary before starting the Claroxan program."

Santa Paula Airport is an active general aviation community, nestled among citrus and avocado groves, 12 miles inland of the popular beach cities of Oxnard and Ventura.

Now celebrating its 80th year, the airport remains privately owned by the hangar owners and is completely self supporting.

The airport, with its 2,650 foot runway, has expanded from its original eight hangars in l930 to approximately 165 hangars, housing over 300 aircraft and several businesses.

The 1930's era facilities that remain, give the airport an authentic representation of the Golden Age of Aviation. Through the years the Santa Paula Airport has been a Mecca for top military, professional and civilian pilots alike.

Once know as the "Antique Airplane Capital of the World," it has drawn talented craftsman who have restored countless antique aircraft. Hangar owners enjoy the ambience and fewer restrictions than on government controlled airports.

Numerous celebrities have escaped their busy lives to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and camaraderie of fellow aviators. Steve McQueen, Gene Hackman and Cliff Robertson are among those who have owned hangars on the airport.

9 Eagles hangars is an Upscale Hangar Development located with direct access to the runway, adjacent to Logsdon's Restaurant and CP Aviation, in the old Screaming Eagle Aviation facility. The Hangars are on fee-simple property, which means you actually own the land, as opposed to the typical hangar lease arrangement.

The facility was extensively remodeled and the 9 hangars were first offered for sale in the end of 2009. The Aviation Museum of Santa Paula was the first to purchase their hangar, and as of this writing four units have sold, and interest is high.

Units feature full width electric doors, exclusive key-pad and remote gated entry and bathrooms including showers.

The model hangar includes a full kitchen and upgraded bathroom. Units range from $299K to $349K. Financing is available. For more info contact: Steve Buenger 805/207-3572, or e-mail to: Steve@BuengerInc.com.
